The base levels and strengthens the nail plate, provides good adhesion of gel polish and prolongs its wear. The top coat protects the nail design from aggressive environmental influences: ultraviolet radiation, detergents, moisture, mechanical damage. The top also seals the free edge of the nail, which prevents peeling of the coating.
How to choose a base / top
In addition to personal preferences (thick or liquid consistency), each master has general recommendations for choosing a top / base for gel polish. For beginners, it is better to choose thick material for work. It is easy to lay out on the plate, it virtually does not form streaks and allows alignment of the note plate.
Liquid base for gel polish is used by experienced craftsmen. This consistency will perfectly strengthen thin nails after polymerization, but requires speed in work. Gaining experience and a client base, it is recommended to have two options for funds, since different bases should be used for different types of nails. The durability of the gel polish coating depends on the correct choice of the base coat.
Quite recently, to save the nail master`s time, a camouflage base was developed, which has recently become more and more popular and not without reason.
